Bankruptcy Courtroom Deputy The candidate will perform specialized and simultaneous courtroom functions such as electronic court recording (ECRO), calendaring, order entry, court minutes and similar courtroom services work. Managing the judge's caseload, attending and logging court proceedings. Responsible for maintaining and processing case information in accordance with approved internal controls, procedures and rules. Perform docketing, order entry and noticing, maintains official case records, reviews filed documents to determine conformity, and takes appropriate action to ensure that all orders and automated entries are appropriately and accurately docketed. Provide backup assistance to the case manager, and vice versa. Interact with parties that appear before the court and be prepared to be courteous, professional and helpful. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, two years general progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates the possession of, or the ability to acquire, the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position, and one to three years' experience requiring the application of clerical procedures, the routine use of keyboard skills, use of specialized terminology and demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives or laws. Handle a large volume of work and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage own workload. Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are also required. Knowledge of CM/ECF useful. Preference will be given to applicants who have a four-year college degree in related fields; experience and judgment with legal documents such as those that might be found in a law office or in another court of any jurisdiction, or prior paralegal experience is needed. Strong preference is given to candidates who have experience in bankruptcy law is needed.
