A premier regional law firm is seeking a Land Use Associate to join its Real Estate & Natural Resources Department. This role presents an opportunity to support the firm's dynamic Land Use practice, handling various real estate, environmental, and administrative law matters. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in land use law, including administrative proceedings, public hearings, and litigation. Location:
Duties:
- Represent clients in land use matters, including public hearings and administrative proceedings
- Handle general litigation tasks, including briefing and oral advocacy
- Conduct research and analysis on development feasibility and land use regulations
- Draft land use applications and analyze administrative codes and regulations
- Assist with appellate briefing and other legal documentation
- Work independently while collaborating with team members on complex projects
- Contribute to business development efforts in land use, real estate, construction, and natural resources sectors
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in land use law, real estate, environmental law, or administrative law
- Experience in public hearings, administrative proceedings, and litigation
- Strong ability to analyze and apply administrative codes and regulations
- Solid research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to draft clear and concise legal documents, including land use applications
- Demonstrated initiative and ownership of projects
- Strong client service ethics and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity required
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Excellent academic credentials
Certifications:
- Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity
