Deputy County Attorney The candidate under direction of the County Attorney, performs and supervises professional legal work in the preparation and prosecution of court cases involving violation of statutes of the State and advises officers and employees of the County. Prosecutes statutory felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases in district court and also serves as representative of the County in juvenile and child welfare cases. Must appear in district court for arraignments; preliminary hearings; juvenile temporary custody proceedings and detention hearings; pretrial conferences; motion hearings; bench trials and jury trials. Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from college of law and attainment of a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) Degree. Must be a licensed attorney in the State of Kansas.
