eDiscovery Manager The candidate will lead a team and work with case teams on all aspects of the eDiscovery process, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of electronically stored information. Will be coordinating all technical aspects of eDiscovery related activity from supporting our internal legal team through acting as a liaison between the requestors, technical teams, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders. Acts as a liaison with the legal team and management on status of identifying source data, collections, processing, review and productions of data; tracking of deadlines, exceptions and tasks. Interfaces with eDiscovery vendors and in-house resources performing preservation, collections, processing, and/or hosting services. Develops and maintains electronic data discovery policies. Manages staff. Provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hires, evaluates and counsels personnel. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established firm standards as required. Sets challenging performance a standard, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures. Advises legal team on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs including recommendations for products to perform early case assessment, document search, document reviews, and production in the most efficient, timely, and cost effective manner. Ensures standard procedures for eDiscovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life cycle of each matter. Monitors and responding to changes to discovery regulations and emerging eDiscovery litigation support technology and processes. Coordinates technical/data processing support, and obtaining other required resources. Leads team of eDiscovery specialists responsible for execution of eDiscovery, email archival processing, and policy execution. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university. Should have 7+ years of experience in managing eDiscovery projects or relevant field (i.e. experience in the areas of computer forensics, IT security, technical documentation). Juris Doctor or litigation-support practice experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of the eDiscovery process at each stage of its lifecycle, including evolving standards created through case law, rules, and industry trends, and of eDiscovery/litigation support services and technologies is needed. Extensive experience with at least one of the following; Legal Hold Pro, Exterro, Clearwell, Summation, Concordance, Relativity or other eDiscovery platform software is must.
