We are seeking general counsel that is a seasoned Attorney to provide expert legal counsel to our senior management, handle all legal matters of the organization, and collaborate with outside counsel, as necessary. This is not a remote position.

Top priorities for the general counsel include:

  • Compliance with government laws, rules, and regulations
  • Risk management and mitigation
  • Business strategy and performance

General Counsel Responsibilities:

  • Advising executive, senior management and board on various matters such as legal rights, and new and existing laws
  • Managing organization's legal matters
  • Examining and creating draft agreements, such as employment and vendor agreements
  • Maintaining knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documents
  • Conducting legal research and reviewing company's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions
  • Promulgating and creating directives of corporate acts and decisions
  • Preserving all corporate records.
  • Handling statutory filings, such as licensing forms.
  • Liaising with outside counsel regarding their assignments.
  • Creating new entities and managing organization's intellectual property
  • Negotiating and overseeing business deals
  • Overseeing corporate governance to ensure legal compliance
  • Managing legal risks
  • Working directly with upper management on business strategy
  • Prepare legal documents
  • Negotiating contracts with clients/vendors/partners

General Counsel Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from a top-tier law school
  • 5+ years of legal practice
  • Demonstrable legal experience in corporate compliance counseling, contract law, and corporate governance issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses
  • Proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker

  • Proficiency with relevant legal technology
  • Demonstrable ethical standards
