Facilities Junior Paralegal Duties: Responsible for assisting in the acquisition and/or real property portfolio including drafting conveyance documents, ordering and reviewing third party reports, managing transactions, and tracking and reporting duties. Performs due diligence for the acquisition and/or refinance of real property. Maintains department files, spreadsheets, including time lines, budgets and task lists and comply with recordkeeping policies and compliance measures. Prepares regular Board presentations, reports and updates. Assists in drafting documents related to the conveyance, improvement or financing of real estate. Performs due diligence for the acquisitions and/or refinance of real property. Reviews and summarizes title commitments. Works with title companies to clear titles and obtains title policies. Reviews and summarizes UCC, judgment, tax and other lien searches. Drafts for review and files a variety of documents, including deeds, mortgages, lease memoranda, UCC financing statements, organizational filings, etc. (under the supervisions of an attorney). Obtains permits, exemptions and other documents. Assists with the preparation of regular Board presentations, reports and updates to the Project Manager and VP Business Development/Facilities. Assists in maintaining department calendar of compliance deadlines. Maintains department files, spreadsheets, including timelines, budgets and task lists and comply with recordkeeping policies and compliance measures. Attends meetings and participates in conference calls, drafting notes from meetings, develops and distributes meeting reports afterward. Performs post-closing follow-up as needed. Maintains punctual regular and predictable attendance. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. Respectfully takes direction from manager.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivilant combination of education and experience. A Paralegal certification from an accredited school would also be sufficient.
