Associate Attorney Candidate will attend court hearings and trials. Will be responsible for managing their caseload from start to finish including: Reviewing pleadings and cases for judgment, reviewing and tracking correspondence, assisting with task and workflow management, assistance with large dockets and providing advice and counsel with respect to collections and creditor’s rights. A high level of responsibility within established guidelines but is encouraged to exercise initiative. Review and edit correspondence and pleadings. Litigate cases in County Court, including hearings, mediations, and trials. Assist the firm to produce a high volume of successful outcomes for its clients through the legal system. Track a high volume of cases through the judicial process. Assist with post-judgment remedies.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited college or university. Licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico. Experience in collections law preferred. Proven experience reviewing legal documents for accuracy. Some litigation experience required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work long hours under strict, often short deadlines. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively verbally and in writing.
