Corporate Paralegal The candidate reports to and assists the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel in analyzing and responding to healthcare regulatory and privacy issues, vendor/supplier contracts, employment matters, and other general corporate matters. Provides advice related to commercial and legal aspects such as trade and commercial matters, regulatory compliance issues, and corporate issues. Identifies and analyzes legal risks and proposal of appropriate actions to secure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies. Drafts, negotiates, reviews and interprets agreements associated with the business, including agreements from pharmaceutical manufacturers, vendors, consultants, and other agreements supporting the business. Counsels and collaborates with compliance, quality, and process improvement on policy development, training, and other relevant activities. Coordinates the legal and compliance aspects of customer programs. Follows established procedures and assists in a variety of assigned legal projects. Provides support to the legal team as needed. Acts as legal department representative on cross-functional teams, as assigned. Provides support other functions such as finance, regulatory, human resources, etc. as needed. Maintains investigation files and documentation. Assists with compliance monitoring process. Drafts, disseminates, and tracks all of company's compliance policies. Develops and manages various compliance related databases. Provides reports as required. Prepares compliance materials and presentations. Reviews and drafts compliance training materials and tracks compliance training completion. May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Paralegal certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field; 5 years of legal or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Must have 5+ years of demonstrated experience of corporate in-house or law firm experience at the paralegal level working with commercial contracts and general corporate matters. Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical environment highly desirable. Strong organizational and computer skills required. Should be proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
