Job Overview:

A leading California-based law firm specializing in consumer protection and Lemon Law litigation is seeking an Entry-Level Associate Attorney for its Newport Beach, California office. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of litigation, including discovery, law & motion work, oral arguments, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 3 years of litigation experience and a passion for advocating on behalf of consumers.

Location:

  • Newport Beach, CA

Duties:

  • Written Discovery:

    • Draft written discovery requests and responses.
    • Review document productions and participate in e-discovery.
    • Draft responses to discovery requests for consumer clients.
  • Law & Motion Work:

    • Draft motions related to discovery disputes.
    • Respond to pleading challenges.
    • Prepare for and participate in oral arguments, case management conferences, and ex parte requests.
  • Depositions:

    • Attend and defend depositions of consumer clients.
    • Take depositions of percipient witnesses.
  • Vehicle Inspections:

    • Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.
  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Ensure timely reporting and billing for hours worked.
    • Opportunities to assist with dispositive motions, complex depositions, and trial preparation.
    • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by partners.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months of litigation experience as a California-licensed attorney.
  • Strong interest in consumer protection and litigation.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex legal issues.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
