ProfilePublic Affairs Specialist, GS 9 - 11 Duties: The candidate provides and creates historically accurate material to be shared and published on the command's social media websites. Provides "time available" personal research services in the collections of other institutions when required to meet official needs. Works with development team to ensure social media tools (i.e. FB connect, YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, and other sharing buttons) are kept up to date. Manages all social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Interfaces with command branches and all the US Navy Museums to produce monthly, or weekly, topics in regard to naval history that can be broadcasted on the command's YouTube channel.
Qualification and Experience
GS-11: Must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Qualifying experience for this position includes three or more of the following: Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on social media websites; Administering content development in digital environments; Planning and executing web-based communication content delivery; 4) Producing talking papers and/or oral presentations; and/or Assisting senior specialists with writing communications plans; OR have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; Or have completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; Or have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
GS-09: Should have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Qualifying experience must demonstrate all of the following: Investigating new social media sites for possible posting to; Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on social media websites; Or have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree Or have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; Or have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
