Law Office Assistant II The candidate can play an important part in this mission by taking responsibility for the smooth operation of lively office where initiative and office skills will be welcomed. Role will include providing a full range of legal assistant and office management duties including: keeping legal cases organized by creating and maintaining paper and electronic case files; preparing legal documents, monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; inputting information into a case management system; and confirming case status with attorneys; day-to-day running of the office such as: maintaining office equipment and supplies; making travel arrangements; troubleshooting and liaising with service individuals; communicating with court and law enforcement personnel; providing human resources functions for employees; providing financial accounts management; and processing payroll documents; and supervising and providing leadership for staff; managing processes; and providing administrative support to the District Attorney in the overall management of the office.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have 1 year of clerical experience in a law office, or clerical experience that included preparing, reviewing, or processing legal documents (such as affidavits, court reports, demand letters, discovery requests or responses, entries of appearances, hearing transcripts, memoranda of advice/instruction, motions, legal opinions, subpoenas, writs, etc.).
OR
1 year of experience as sole clerical staff providing a range of administrative support for multiple professionals in a stand-alone office or leading the work of two or more other staff in a clerical unit.
Substitution: Post-secondary education from an accredited college in law, business administration, criminal justice, legal support, or a social science may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours/4 quarter hours equal one month).
