ProfileStaff Attorney The candidate will be responsible for: Adjudicating all types of administrative hearings and promptly writing decisions in cases involving alleged violations of local laws and the rules and regulations of the City of New York within the jurisdiction of Hearings Division; Handling all Bridge Operations that includes, but is not limited to, assigning cases, moving the parties and their representatives into hearing rooms, and preparing for remote hearings; Assisting in directing the legal operations of the tribunal that includes, but is not limited to, the quality and consistency of all decisions rendered by per diem hearing officers, coordinating daily assignments of Hearing Officers, and performing legal review and other legal administrative duties; Assisting in maintaining procedures to ensure that cases are heard and decisions are rendered in a timely manner, and maintaining systems, including databases, to effectively manage productivity, timeliness and staffing needs; Handling special assignments and projects, including oral and/or written presentations; Responding to requests for information or documents; Cooperatively interacting with Branch administrative personnel and clerical staff. Admission to the New York State Bar is essential. Should have 1+ year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state Bar; or Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086). Must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. Must have 1+ year of experience at Assignment Level I or 2+ years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment.
