Temporary Paralegal The candidate will be drafting pleadings (Complaints, Answers, Motions, etc.). Drafting discovery requests and responses. Downloading, reviewing, organizing and indexing discovery documents. Noting depositions (oral and records). Drafting financial statements (MD statutory Form â€“ Family Law Specific). Letters/e-mails to clients re: scheduling order, court dates, etc. Trial prep (fee affidavits, subpoenas, preparing exhibits, summaries, etc.). Child support guidelines. Research (MDJCS, SDAT, MDLandRecords, PeopleMap, etc.). Deposition/Transcript summaries. Case management/monitor deadlines. Notice letters and Vital Records Report for uncontested hearings.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have at least three to five(3-5) yearsâ€™ paralegal experience required, family law experience a plus. Paralegal Certificate preferred. Analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to accurately process a variety of tasks and high volumes of work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Advanced knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other web-based applications. Willingness to perform administrative tasks as necessary.
