Tax - Merger and Acquisition Associate - JD/LLM - Summer 2020 The candidate will help clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. Will advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions. Focus on helping clients establish treasury goals, analyse and quantify tax assets, assess tax risks, and model taxable income and cash flow impacts. Invite and provide evidence-based feedback in a timely and constructive manner. Share and collaborate effectively with others. Work with existing processes/systems whilst making constructive suggestions for improvements. Validate data and analysis for accuracy and relevance. Follow risk management and compliance procedures. Keep up-to-date with technical developments for business area. Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner - verbally and in written form. Seek opportunities to learn about other cultures and other parts of the business across the Network of firms. Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct. Should have a J.D. degree and be eligible to sit for the Bar in the appropriate work state. Master of Laws in Taxation would be preferred. Cumulative GPA of 3.3 is desired. Should demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of success in federal and state tax laws including research and analyze tax laws, rules and regulations, pertinent client, industry, and technical matters. Must demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of success as a tax technical professional researching business and industry trends to develop a point of view to leverage in assisting with proposals. Should preferably demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of success with automation & digitization in a professional services environment including innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions; and working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools.
