The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, research proficiency, and exceptional communication abilities. This role requires the ability to navigate efficiently in a paperless environment and to foster strong relationships with both internal and external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation defense matters.
  • Managing a caseload from assignment to resolution, ensuring proactive and efficient handling of cases.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis related to workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs.
  • Attending hearings, depositions, and mediations as required.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and claims professionals.
  • Providing strategic legal advice and counsel to clients regarding workers' compensation claims.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case management records in accordance with firm policies.

Requirements

  • Active State Bar license and member in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong organizational ability with attention to detail.
  • Research and analytical expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a paperless environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
