Criminal Law - Prosecution

Court Executive 1B (Unclassified) Criminal Division The candidate will work in any of the three Vicinage 13 counties. Will be the daily on-site manager and leader for all employees within the Somerset County Criminal Division. Responsible for all day-to-day operations including to: human resources management (courtroom and office supervision); caseload management including Drug Court; procurement and fiscal management; operational and facilities management; and all administrative aspects of Somerset's division operations. Responsible for recruitment, discipline and other personnel actions; assess training needs; evaluate the performance of staff and preparing performance advisories, mentoring, coaching and making training recommendations, and ensure that all judiciary protocols and policies are administered fairly, consistently and equitably; assist with case management, both within the courtroom and the division; prepare case management goals and objectives for all case types; assess the automation needs and work directly with IT initiatives for the division to include eCourts; collaborating with other divisions on matters of mutual interest to ensure the needs of all court users are being met; attending and participating in criminal committee and subcommittee meetings that deal with statewide policy; ensure all court activities remain in compliance with current laws, court rules and directives to include consistent oversight and management of inmate and bench warrant activities; utilize statistical reports to monitor and evaluate efficient case management and develop strategies to reduce backlog or streamline case processing; oversee the timely and accurate collection, maintenance, analysis and reporting of statistical performance and submission of reports reflecting this information; and perform other related work as required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of professional administrative experience, one of which shall have included experience in reviewing court activities for compliance with laws, court rules or administrative directives; consulting with judges, attorneys and law clerks; evaluating case management systems; coordinating activities between agencies, government and enforcement units; and/or preparing and analyzing case processing statistical reports. Professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits is preferred. An associate's degree and two years of additional professional experience is substituted for the required bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for 1+ year of experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree may be substituted for 2+ years of experience as indicated above. Deadline: 10/10/2018
