Associate General Counsel
Duties: Join a growing Legal team and will work strategically to help build and enhance the Legal function across the entire company. Facilitate growth and intake of new business by providing legal support in the bidding and Request for Proposal process for government and commercial clients. In so doing, will partner closely with the Sales and Client Management business teams. Support the Clinical business team with the Provider Network contracting function and work to enhance our provider networks nationally. Further advise the business regarding network adequacy and related risk for jurisdictions and business lines that have network requirements. Support other business units and teams with the engagement of vendors, consultants, and partners and work to maintain the best interests of the company in negotiations with same.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor degree required. Must also be an active member of the State Bar of any state and maintain attorney licensure in good standing. 7+ years of legal experience involving working as an attorney in a large law firm practice and/or in-house counsel role. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts on behalf of managed care health plans, third-party administrators, and/or clinical providers are required. Familiarity with the regulatory landscape surrounding dental and vision services payable under Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA Exchange benefits is preferred. Experience working with insurance companies and risk-based healthcare services, including value-based care arrangements, is preferred. Experience with corporate governance and corporate compliance is preferred. Must be pragmatic and be capable of efficiently negotiating a contract while keeping the company’s strategic and financial interests at heart. Must have a strong sense of ethics and integrity and be a champion of these virtues within the organization. Should be a self-starter and someone committed to learning new areas that they are not already familiar with. Should have proven success in advising and influencing senior leaders in a rapidly evolving environment.
