National Contracts Manager The candidate in this role are managers' of a queue containing a high volume of sales contracts related to monthly sales activities in various channels. (These channels include small, medium, large commercial customers as well as various levels of government). The position is accountable for providing outstanding internal contract support to business leadership and sales teams across the country. Successful candidates would be expected to professionally represent the sales arm of a Fortune 500 company organization within customer interactions via phone, email, or in person. Reports to the business but works in conjunction with the Legal department for requisite approvals. Position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Receives contract escalations via SalesForce and processes contract agreements/solutions until signature. Must thrive under routine collaboration with Sales professionals in support of revenue generation. (Daily expectation is for the highest levels of internal/external customer service). Works on a team with similarly skilled Contracts Managers in an extremely collaborative environment. Prepared to act as conduit for Sales Operation leadership in various internal and external capacities. Contract Review includes: examination of contract change requests, special provisions, alternative terms, and pricing; all in compliance with corporate policies and business procedures. Routinely support negotiation of Terms & Conditions, SOW's, RFP's, right-of-entry, pricing, and Product Specific documents, Able to process complex legal and business terms in the formulation of negotiation strategies in furtherance of revenue generation. Provides continuous support to business management related to contractual (risk) advisement. (Contract managers must see beyond the 'black and white' of contractual terms and prosper within the 'grey'.) Routinely engages corporate legal counsel to ensure contract compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and internal policies. Likewise, contract managers are also expected to successfully navigate engagement from appropriate operations, sales, finance, and other specialty departments as appropriate. Maintain an understanding that there is a difference between pursuing a solution versus waiting for an answer. May act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for certain Business Services programs (as it relates to contracting or training.). Facilitates training on new processes and procedures, contract versions, and tools and resources for the Contract Management team and field personnel. Works to establish needed processes that will create efficiencies in the Business Services group. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. May require occasional travel (10%)
Qualification and Experience
A Juris Doctor (JD) Required. 2-4 years related experience working with commercial contracts desired. Successful past candidates have demonstrated creativity in approach to legal language, processes, and solutions. Previous knowledge of customer telecom/cable/technical industries a plus. Previous contracts manager or paralegal experience a plus. Previous exposure to sales teams (within a legal capacity or otherwise) a plus. Excellent inter-personal skills a must. Should have Understand Operating Principles.
