Profile

Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Legal Writer The candidate will be develop case information; coordinate with courts, clients and opposing counsel; track cases; and support attorneys’ trial preparation. Perform legal research and draft memorandums, pleadings and motions. Help develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; preparing and filing discovery requests; and organizing materials for case review. Establish and organize files; maintain and monitor attorneys’ calendars; meet deadlines; document actions; and confirm case status with attorney. Directly interact with clients, court staff and opposing counsel. Enhance trial proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed. Draft 2-4 legal summaries of current legal events per week; edit firm website and manage content for other social media websites. Support firm attorneys in all matters related to preparing case files and representing clients. Other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must possess a Diploma or Certificate. At Least 3 Years in a Paralegal/Legal Assistant Role. Must Have a Valid Driver’s License. Legal Research and Legal Writing Skills required. Legal Administration Skills needed. Must Have Proficient Computer Skills Including Microsoft Office Suite, Legal Research Software As Well As the Ability to Quickly Learn New Software Systems. Must be pro-active and persistent in meeting deadlines; ensuring follow-up on case demands; and problem solving to promptly address and resolve day-to-day issues while exercising sound judgment. Excellent writing skills and organizational skills are very important, as is a commitment to client confidentiality. Familiarity with General Office Equipment. Must Have a Positive Attitude and Strong Interpersonal Skills. Strong Desire for Continued Growth and Learning.
