ProfileLong-Term Care Planning Paralegal Duties: Acting as the initial “face of the firm” to prospective Long-Term Care Planning clients. Meeting with prospective clients to review financial, personal, and medical information. Providing summary of key matters to attorney to allow quick and accurate understanding of prospective client’s situation. Coordinating long-term care, estate planning, and guardianships/conservatorship files. Working with clients to determine value of assets and income, gifts and debts. Working with clients to implement attorney-designed plan. Adjusting plan based on changing circumstances. Confirming client has reached financial eligibility.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Experience with Elder Law. Experience with Medicaid process. Analytical skills to read financial statements and to analyze and adjust financial plans. Ability to work with clients in crisis, including older clients. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HotDocs, and Sales Force. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including time management. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
