Legal Secretary II The candidate will work in the Child and Family Protection Division. Will provide support for one or more attorneys which includes: preparation of legal pleadings and documents necessary to process child support cases; drafting and typing correspondence; answering inquiries from client, court personnel and others regarding case activity and status; inputting data into and using an automated case management system to maintain and track case records and activity; independently generating legal forms needed in all types of actions; maintaining court calendar and legal deadlines; preparing documents and legal memoranda and other projects as assigned. Duties involve reviewing, creating and processing materials and information that are confidential by federal and state laws.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have extensive experience as a legal secretary or completion of a post high school legal secretary/paralegal-training program. Must have knowledge of word processing programs, legal terminology and legal forms as well as service of process procedures. Extensive knowledge of Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedures including court procedures and applicable time-frames is required. Typing speed of 60+ wpm is a must.
