A law firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking a dynamic Health Care Medicaid Regulatory and Policy Advising Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regulatory analysis and policy advising pertaining to the Medicaid program. They will engage with complex regulatory and policy questions, demonstrating a strong interest in enhancing access to affordable, high-quality health care services. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary practice and tackle challenging issues in Medicaid law.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough regulatory analysis and provide expert policy advising related to the Medicaid program.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for complex regulatory and policy questions concerning Medicaid, actively supporting projects aimed at enhancing access to affordable, high-quality health care services.
  • Utilize demonstrated experience in Medicaid issues, including coverage, reimbursement, managed care delivery systems, or section 1115 demonstration projects.
  • Engage with all facets of the firm's uniquely multidisciplinary practice.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, tailoring communication to both legal and lay audiences.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, coupled with exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Employ effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, working independently and proactively to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of health care regulatory experience, specifically in coverage and reimbursement.
  • Demonstrated experience in Medicaid regulatory and policy issues, and/or complex questions of administrative law is preferred.
  • Strong interest in and willingness to learn about Medicaid, with particular emphasis on the federal Administrative Procedure Act.
  • Membership in good standing with the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
