Job Overview: A dynamic law firm is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing team in the Newark office. This role involves managing a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, with opportunities to support labor and employment cases. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of litigation experience, strong legal analysis skills, and the ability to independently manage cases from start to resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to contribute to a collaborative team while gaining experience in various aspects of commercial disputes.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Develop and implement case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
• Handle discovery, including conducting depositions and witness interviews
• Prepare and argue motions and briefs in both state and federal courts
• Provide regular updates to clients and negotiate settlements when necessary
• Stay informed on the latest legal trends and developments in commercial litigation
• Assist with business development efforts, including client presentations and networking

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in good standing
• 4-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on commercial and employment litigation
• Strong skills in legal writing, research, and analysis
• Pre-trial and trial experience preferred, with the ability to appear in court independently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with electronic discovery tools is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
