Legal Assistant DUTIES: provide support to legal counsel, whose support will include, among other things, assisting legal counsel in managing transactions, preparing and reviewing legal documents, researching and reviewing the law, corresponding with counsel, and organizing legal documents and affairs. Think logically and reasonably to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Prepare legal documents and correspondence, as directed by legal counsel, accurately and timely. Maintains legal documents in an organized and orderly manner. Review and monitor corporate and third party compliance with legal obligations. Provide honest and ethical guidance. Provide legal assistance to the accounting department regarding third party compliance with insurance obligations. Assist legal counsel in gathering and analyzing applicable law and legal developments. Understand department needs and seek clarification when needed. Analyze the possible outcomes of proceedings, using knowledge of legal precedents and make recommendations to ensure favorable outcomes. Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelorâ€™s Degree. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Proficient in Outlook. Proficient in LexisNexis/Westlaw research tools.
