Senior Paralegal The Paralegal will work under the supervision of attorneys in the firm’s Legal Department - Consumer Regulatory, as well as interact with cross-functional teams and business partners as part of the Legal team. Perform legal research on a broad range of state and federal consumer finance laws, as well as assist attorneys with drafting legal memos and other written documents. Be responsible for tracking and monitoring newly enacted or amended federal and state laws, providing initial review and analysis, and compiling related reports. Must have a Paralegal certificate training or equivalent (undergraduate degree (BA or BS is preferred). Must have 5+ years of experience working in a corporate legal department, law firm, or significant experience in a related field. Should have strong research and writing skills, organization, attention to detail, and analytical and critical-thinking abilities. Familiarity with consumer financial services such as credit and lending, marketing, technology, privacy, consumer protection, financial services, and operations and familiarity with any of the following laws and regulations such as UDAAP, EFTA/Reg. E, TILA/Reg. Z, GLBA/Reg. P, FCRA/Reg. V, FDCPA, ECOA/Reg. B and other laws affecting consumer loans and payment products and services are preferred. Should be proficient in Lexis/Westlaw, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have strong interpersonal and communication, both oral and written skills. Should be self-motivated, flexible, team player able to take direction from multiple people. Should have the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work through multiple and complex projects at a time. Should have the willingness to collaborate and work effectively both independently and in a team-based approach to subject matter management. Should have creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills and possess an ownership attitude for projects and tasks.
