IP Project Manager Duties: Experience managing the end-to-end project management of large-scale patent and trademark related projects . Focus on process improvements, organization and management of a large number of files. Responsible for receiving all incoming and outgoing patent and trademark physical and electronic transfers into firm. Manages each step of the transfer from communicating with the client, General Counsel, attorneys, accounting, records department, IT, US and foreign docketing, administrative staff. Asks targeted questions to identify client requirements. Lead action plans against gaps and clear roadblocks. Responsible for outstanding deadlines during transfer process. Responsible for checking accuracy of chain of title for each transferred file . Prepare and file Power of Attorney forms, 3.73 Statement of Assignee using PAIR for each transferred file. Purging of physical and electronic documents. Communicate with the USPTO. Responsible for obtaining new customer numbers and maintaining 60+ numbers. Responsible for obtaining new and maintaining attorney PKI Certificates. Administrator of USPTO Financial Manager.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: A Paralegal Certificate or a degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies or related field is preferred. Patent & trademark paralegal certificate preferred. 3+ years of project management experience and 5 years of experience working as a IP Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a law firm environment is required. Proven track record of project management and substantial intellectual property experience will be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in patent management software (e.g. Computer Packages Inc.). Strong consulting, analytical and problem solving skills. Solid organizational and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Ability to work flexible hours/a flexible schedule to accommodate projects as needed. Professional demeanor and ability to work well with others within the firm and as part of a team, consistent with firm’s mission of “exceeding expectations through teamwork and excellent client service”. Must be a self-starter who is driven to identify and act on opportunities for improvement in efficiencies in the delivery of highest quality professional services.
