Counsel (Health care-Pharma) The candidate will support RxCrossroads, a business unit of company focused on supporting manufacturer-sponsored brand-support programs that promote better health through improved access to specialized pharmaceutical therapies. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements, amendments and related documents; interacting with internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, I.T., and account management functions and representing their needs and concerns when negotiating with the legal and contracting functions of clients and vendors, all with minimal oversight from supervising attorney. The successful attorney in this role will manage a diverse scope of contracting issues, requiring identification and evaluation of many business and legal issues simultaneously.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school; Admitted to Arizona Bar or immediately eligible for either in-house counsel registration or admission on motion in accordance with Arizona rules. Should have 6+ years active legal practice in law firm or in-house environment. Experience: Significant experience personally reviewing, revising, drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts; Preferred experience emphasis on healthcare transactional and regulatory matters (in-house experience preferred). Experience managing high-stakes negotiations and compromises with other sophisticated attorneys, within established guidelines and with minimal oversight from supervising attorney; Experience with regulatory issue spotting, research, analysis, and risk mitigation in a highly regulated healthcare environment. Must have strong background knowledge of healthcare industry regulation, including information privacy and security laws and federal and state anti-kickback laws. Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience strongly preferred. Should have extraordinary interpersonal skills and ability to provide sound, clear and succinct legal advice and analysis to legal leadership and business teams. Must have ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond to competing business demands in a pragmatic, diplomatic, and capable fashion. Should have ability to facilitate collaboration and communication among internal departments (e.g., Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, Finance, Technical Accounting, Sales, Marketing, and other legal and non-legal subject matter experts).
