Legislative & Public Policy Associate - Mid-Level Legislative and Public Policy Candidate will work exclusively on healthcare and life sciences issues. Focus of the group is on Congressional and regulatory advocacy on topics including appropriations, defense, education, environmental and energy, financial services, foreign relations, healthcare and life sciences, tax, telecommunications, trade, and transportation. Clients include globally recognized brands, Fortune 500 companies, innovative start-ups, leading associations, healthcare systems, educational institutions, units of local government, foreign governments, and coalitions. Will work on a variety of policy issues, including Medicare/Medicaid coverage and reimbursement, drug pricing and other issues impacting the life sciences sector, medical technology, public health, pandemic preparedness, federal funding, health IT, telehealth, and children’s health.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the jurisdiction in which they are applying to work. Will have 5+ years of experience working in federal legislative and public policy roles, with most of that time focused on healthcare and life sciences policy issues. Should have substantial experience managing projects in a legislative context and prior exposure to developing and executing comprehensive legislative and/or regulatory strategies for a particular client or issue. Relevant experience might include staff work in Congress or government relations work for a corporation, federal agency legislative affairs office, unit of local government, or trade association. Ideal candidates will likely have relevant substantive experience in multiple areas of healthcare and life sciences policy. All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references.
