Corporate Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate provides legal department support and assists professional legal staff in the preparation of documents and filings for compliance with rules, regulations and laws of various local, state, and federal government agencies. Performs advanced-level legal and administrative support duties and work requiring sound judgment. Provides other support for Legal department as requested. Drafts correspondence, board minutes, proxies and other documents Schedules and coordinates meetings involving both internal and external stakeholders. Manages and maintains assigned calendars and assists with others. Represents the Legal Department in all interactions, maintaining a professional demeanor and demonstrating our values. Processes vendor invoices and expense requests/reimbursements and creates and manages Excel budget documents. Prepares routine and non-routine agendas. Manages and executes key department projects as needed. Reviews grant contracts, NDAs and Contractor Agreements for business units. Completes and maintains licensing function for all corporate entities. Maintains and updates corporate Board books. Performs basic legal research. Submits invoices for payment from outside counsel for submission to Finance and maintains related records. Administers and tracks compliance with HIPAA and code of conduct training for employees and consultants. Distributes, collects, and maintains conflict of interest statements. Maintains database of company contracts and agreements. Maintains library of contract templates for distribution. Performs other related duties as required by position. Maintains high level of confidentiality and discretion due to the nature of work. Should preferably have Bachelor’s degree – may substitute relevant job experience. 1+ years of paralegal experience or equivalent is preferred. Advanced or intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, web tools, SharePoint, Lexis, Westlaw, document comparison software and other business software is essential.Strong proofreading and formatting skill is essential.
