Tax Attorney Senior Group Manager The candidate will providing essential tax and legal advice in support of all aspects of its activities with an emphasis on tax structured products, equities, fixed income, commodities, FX, interest rates and capital markets origination. External clients include: dealers, multinational corporations, public sector entities, municipal entities, and investment funds, such as hedge funds and securitization vehicles. Working in partnership with the markets and banking businesses. Will develop proactive business oriented tax solutions. Responsibilities include: drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements with clients, vendors, and strategic alliance partners; resolving customer matters; reviewing tax structured products and participating in product approval committees; evaluating and minimizing risk; participating in projects and process improvements; conducting legal research and drafting internal memoranda; and performing other related tasks. Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast paced environment. The position requires a committed effort to stay abreast of regulatory and legal issues and industry initiatives that impact the businesses. This role involves extensive interaction with the business stakeholders, regional or country counsel counterparts, cross-functional partners such as legal, accounting policy and risk, and external counsel. Will coordinate matters with the firm tax compliance and the firm tax information reporting functions. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of the tax information reporting and withholding rules, including FATCA. Will be expected to work in coordination with subject matter experts and project managers to educate businesses on new legal developments and to ensure that new policies, controls and procedures are launched successfully. 5+ years experience in a law firm or financial services corporation are required. JD required.
