Assistant General Counsel, Global Commercial The candidate will contribute to legal and business strategy development and legal execution and support for all worldwide corporate activities. Will be a business minded thought and proactive leader, as well as a practitioner, in the global commercial legal team, and be responsible for commercial matters of the Company under the supervision of the lead of the global commercial team. Responsible for commercial, transactional and regulatory matters for the Company, as well as other matters as assigned by the Associate General Counsel, Global Commercial. Manage the preparation of global corporate agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance. Continuously improve standard form agreements, legal processes, and contract management system. Corporate governance for US companies and International entities. Regulatory compliance pertaining to global consumer goods and international manufacturing. Corporate compliance oversight. Manage day to day counseling of assigned business clients, both domestically and globally. Perform diligence and resolve supplier issues. Collaborate with other legal department personnel in conducting inquiries. Support cross functional pragmatic leadership within the legal department and business partners.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an accredited law school; member of state bar, preferably State of Massachusetts. Must have 10-12 years’ experience practicing law in a corporate environment. Experience practicing corporate law in the legal department of a consumer goods company and innovative tech-culture company is highly desirable. Excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills with proven ability to interact effectively with varied audiences, including executive team members is required. Prior International and strong drafting experience is desired. Intellectual property/licensing agreement experience desirable. Desirable international experience, including China, Asia pacific and Europe.
