Senior Business Development Coordinator
The candidate will respond to Requests for Proposal and drafts pitches for new business in collaboration with attorneys and the Proposal Development Manager. Meets with attorneys to help them prepare for and follow up on proposals and other business opportunities. Proposes the marketing materials needed for use in support of pitches, events, mailings, and follow-up. Provides support for Client Service Groups and Industry Teams, including participation in meetings and subsequent follow through. Creates business development plans with individual attorneys, Client Service Groups (practice groups) and offices. Plans and manages firm events and promotional activities on and off-site, including special events, seminars, visits and internal marketing-related events. Fields potential media opportunities, working with outside PR firm and other marketing staff as appropriate. Writes short pieces for the Firm's web site and media releases in conjunction with the Firm's outside PR firm. Compiles competitive intelligence and performs basic market research as directed. Coordinates and updates practice information and experience for inclusion on the firm's website and for use in proposals and other materials. Coordinates relevant office and practice survey responses and directory listings. Manages production and execution of client alerts. Manages and implements firm wide initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Must have 3+ years’ experience in a professional services firm required, preferably in legal services marketing. Experience with Contact Manager, Contact Networks, or Proposal Generator is a plus. Must have ability to interact professionally with both internal and external clients on all levels. Should have ability to work as part of a national professional team. Must have ability to concentrate on the management and pay close attention to the details of projects. Should have ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with lawyers, firm management, staff and clients one- on-one both verbally and through written correspondence, surveys, memos, etc. Must have ability to work well under pressure with flexibility and adaptability to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments. Should have ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate projects as needed, including working evenings or a weekend on occasion. Must have ability to diplomatically provide answers, push back or to question those in authority for greater clarity or more information, if needed.
