ProfileRegulatory Associate The candidate will obtain regulatory approvals for firm satellites, gateways, launches, services, and equipment, as assigned. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in assigned countries; and to promote firm’s business objectives through written advocacy and policy papers, external meetings and oral presentations, as assigned. Secure regulatory authorizations, including market access, for firm satellites and services in time for launch and/or commercial operations in assigned countries. Maintain full regulatory compliance in countries and areas of responsibility. Conduct in-depth policy analysis of national and/or international policy proceedings and developments, in countries of responsibility and matters as assigned. Conduct effective policy advocacy and defense via strategic, substantive and timely interventions (directly as firm or via trade associations) that support firm’s key business and policy objectives, in national and international policy proceedings and meetings, as assigned. Topics might include: broadband policy and plans, telecommunications and internet service regulation, satellite competition, universal service, spectrum allocations, ITU issues, and space policy. Develop and maintain positive and regular working relationships with key government officials in the U.S., and national regulators in key countries of responsibility, in order to enhance firm’s image and standing, and facilitate regulator’s understanding of firm’s satellite system, services, and business needs. Ad hoc projects as assigned by the line manager from time to time. Must have JD degree. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent legal research and policy analysis skills is required. Language skills: fluent English is required, additional languages is beneficial. Excellent command of MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is must.
