ProfileTax Services Manager - Real Estate Tax The candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of and ability to master increasingly complex tax concepts. Will demonstrate strong technical real estate tax and transactional skills and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Build client relationships and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the real estate business. Provide high-quality service and time-sensitive advice that complies with clients' expectations in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Prepare memoranda, opinions, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the Internal Revenue Service or Treasury Department and review real estate-related agreements. Build technical competencies by keeping current on trends, developments and technical authorities, while applying them to complex situations. Help develop and guide staff by providing effective performance feedback and making certain team responsibilities are consistent with skills and goals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and 5+ years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree in Tax or Law and 4 years of related work experience. A valid US CPA or progress toward a CPA license or licensed attorney designation is required. Should preferably have 4+ years of broad real estate-related tax consulting experience in business or industry. Experience in tax compliance, partnership taxation, real estate investment trusts, partnership allocations, acquisition planning and structuring desired. Experience with a diverse client group an asset (e.g., developer and owner, publicly traded real estate investment trusts, private equity, opportunity funds, pension funds and hotels). Strong technical and writing skills are needed.
