Tax Advisory Group - Firm Transactions and Projects Coverage, Tax Counsel, Vice President Duties: Responsibilities will include tax analysis, management and oversight of all tax aspects of strategic transactions, projects and planning, frequently serving as the Tax lead throughout the entire transaction life cycle, and providing general tax advisory support to the Firm. Some examples of specific responsibilities are: Transaction and project tax structuring and planning; Conducting and managing tax due diligence; Reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation; Overseeing and managing transaction execution from tax perspective; Post-closing transaction reporting, both for tax compliance and tax accounting, including compiling necessary information and memorializing tax analysis; Interfacing regularly with stakeholders outside of Tax, including senior management, Business Units, Treasury, Finance and Legal, to present and address tax issues; Managing external tax advisors and their work products; Project management of projects or initiatives.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD degree from a nationally recognized law school. 3-5+ years of general tax practice in a public accounting or law firm setting, with a firm foundation in M&A, corporate tax and general income tax areas, including the consolidated return regulations, with partnership tax knowledge a plus. Proven project management and leadership skills. Ability to deal confidently with senior professionals, and communicate complex tax principles to non-tax audiences. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, research and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to summarize themes into concise and effective presentations. Attention to detail and strong organizational mindset. Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively and multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Dedication to teamwork and collaborative spirit. Strong sense of ownership, commercial judgment and ability to work autonomously. General understanding of tax accounting principles a plus, and willingness to learn.
