Associate Attorney - Tax Law The candidate must have 2+ years of substantive tax experience and an LLM in tax. Key areas of representation and service include domestic, international and cross-border tax planning, tax compliance and administration, state and local taxes, and defense in tax controversies. Provides a unique opportunity to work closely with a senior partner, who is one of the most respected tax law attorneys in the Southwest. Will be challenged and rewarded by an accelerated track, which provides an opportunity to grow quickly. Should preferably have broad-based experience in both business and tax law, including forming for profit and not-for-profit business entities; the purchases and sales of businesses and real estate; business succession planning; tax planning; tax audits; administrative appeals; tax litigation; and tax-exempt entity matters. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain legal and tax strategies to clients are important. Outstanding academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills required. Texas Bar and LLM in tax required; New Mexico Bar, a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills and ties to El Paso are desirable.
