Global Tax Client Tax Matters Manager The candidate will assess risk levels of major deals and planning work/resources appropriately. Meet with client deal teams and tax departments where appropriate to negotiate tax aspects of major deals. Undertake strategic tax projects with other parts of the tax group as necessary. Coordinate the tax planning and consequences of major deals with the local Regional Tax Director and Individual Tax Matters contact to ensure that all entity taxes and individual taxes related to a deal are dealt with appropriately. Educate the business and other Subject Matter Expert (SME) groups on tax issues relevant to deals, principally by way of presentations and meetings. Provide written and oral transaction tax guidance to internal company business teams as it relates to client service agreements. Coordinate and conduct discussions with company business and finance teams to gather information required for comprehensive transaction tax guidance. Review and successfully advocate for business team compliance with internal company tax policies and procedures. Review client services agreements and advise on tax risk and cost mitigation strategies including both alternative contracting structures and additional terms and conditions. Assist with company finance and business team use of Global Tax Group (GTG) tax tools. Coordinate and support company Global Tax Group tax subject matter expert reviews of transaction tax issues. Maintain database to track status of current deals and history of issued tax guidance. An Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent is required. CPA or J.D. a plus. Must have 2 years related experience (client deal experience a plus). Should have ability to effectively communicate and cooperatively work with different levels/geographies of company finance and leadership teams.
