New England Tax Manager The candidate will review and preparation of federal, state, and foreign tax return filings and tax provisions for regulated investment company funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, common trust funds, , and partnerships; IRC 4982 excise tax compliance for regulated investment companies. Organize and implement tax review procedures; facilitate communication between client and outside advisors, ensure engagement team meets deadlines; delegation of work as appropriate; perform high level review duties. Serve as client’s trusted advisor and demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to client and team. Manage staff and outside advisors on engagement deliverables (such as, tax returns and work papers, etc.); complete technical reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery. Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc. Understand the client’s organization, procedures and internal policies. Assist with new business development in partnership with client and internal resources; participate in client meetings, presentations and proposal development. Manage multiple client relationships, engagements and special projects. Develop overall engagement budget and be responsible for realization on assigned clients. Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively. Foster a team environment; demonstrate support of management and decisions to build a positive culture. Participate in practice development activities that lead to the generation of new business. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in public accounting or related field including 3+ years of supervisory experience required. Must have active CPA, JD, or equivalent certification. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally required. Proficient use of applicable technology required.
