WM Senior Estate Settlement Admin The candidate probate and trust estates following the death of an existing company client, or upon the appointment of company as personal representative of a probate estate or as a successor trustee of an administrative trust or as agent for personal representative. Responsible for all day-to-day activities associated with managing the probate or trust account including: cash management, marshalling of assets, asset valuations, ascertaining and paying creditor claims, developing plans of distribution, post-mortem tax and estate planning, and all other death settlement related activities. Coordination with business partners regarding investment management issues as well as the management of Alternative Assets, including: commercial and residential real estate, farm and ranch properties, timberland, oil and gas, Partnerships, LLCs, etc. Additionally, will consult with outside attorneys, accountants and other Centers of Influence in managing and controlling risk as well as providing effective communication with the ultimate beneficiaries. Responsible for ensuring that the probate estate or trust account is managed in compliance with the governing document, bank policy and procedure as well as with statutory and common law requirements. Primarily administers probate and administrative trusts of the most complex nature which generally will require Federal Estate Tax returns in addition to a variety of other complex estate and tax issues and tax returns.
Qualification and Experience
A Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) or similar certificate is preferred. A BS/BA degree or higher (such as MBA/J.D./LLM) in business, management, law or trust and wealth management is desired. Must have 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following industries: financial, trust, or legal which includes 4+ years of estate specialty field experience. Leadership experience is needed. Should have ability to develop and maintain strong, effective relationships. Mus have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Should have ability to review trust agreement documents and ensure bank compliance. Must have strong relationship management skills. Strong knowledge and understanding of trust and fiduciary principles, taxation of trusts, and state and federal law regarding trusts is desired.
