Tax Manager, Federal Planning The candidate will support the Director of Federal Tax Planning and Policy in furthering the objectives of the Company through critical functions including: tax research, writing, and planning, acquisition and disposition structuring, due diligence, and supporting special projects. Will focus on identifying, evaluating, and implementing, in a team setting, opportunities to minimize the Company’s federal tax burden. Report to Director, Federal Tax Planning and PolicyPlay a critical role in project management for the Tax organization in acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and internal restructurings, and support positions taken on federal income tax returns. Serve as Tax point person on M&A transactional activities, including acting as Tax project manager, coordinating and implementing due diligence, performing document review and drafting, conducting tax research, planning, and documentation. Provide support and assistance in the identification, evaluation, development, and execution of strategies to reduce federal income taxes for all business units. Manage cross-functional teams in order to effectively implement value-added federal income tax planning initiatives, including day-to-day tasks in this regard. Monitor, implement, and assist in potentially influencing federal legislation and regulations. Support the review of filing positions for firm's consolidated federal income tax return. Manage outside attorneys and consultants participating in projects.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should be Member of State Bar. Should have 5+ years of technical tax experience in nationally recognized law firm or public accounting firm, or in-house tax department of a large publicly traded corporation. LLM in Taxation is preferred. Excellent research, organizational, written, verbal, and analytical skills is essential.
