Senior Land Use Associate Attorney The candidate must have 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm working on land use matters for major projects. Should have strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, familiarity with the land use/zoning process in the City of Los Angeles and other local governments in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and experience playing a major role in complex land use matters. Should also have partnership qualities and the desire to grow expertise and develop business in a thriving land use group. Should preferably have substantial experience representing developers to obtain project entitlements, including general plan amendments, specific plans, subdivision map approvals, zone changes, development agreements, use permits, etc. Must be familiar with federal and State law relating to endangered species, wetland laws, coastal protection, historic preservation, redevelopment and affordable housing. An excellent working knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is important, particularly the ability to supervise the preparation of an EIR or other CEQA documents. Should preferably also have solid experience speaking at public hearings and knowledge of municipal law.
