Senior Counsel The candidate will provide support to the real estate group and other attorneys throughout the Firm. Will handle drafting, reviewing, analyzing, revising and negotiating legal documents. Coordinate schedules with real estate paralegals and support staff and communicate with clients and third parties. Draft, review, analyze, revise and negotiate legal documents such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, deeds of trust, and loan documents. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, third parties, etc., and maintain regular contact with all parties. Log and submit matter time and expense billing for matter files. Present information and respond to questions from groups of attorneys, clients, employees, and third parties. Provide frequent status updates to the supervising attorneys and clients, if requested. Communicate well, show teamwork effort, and collaborate well with everyone the attorney comes in contact with. Maintain competency through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments and CLE requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Must have graduated from an accredited US law school with a GPA in the upper 25%. Must be licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar Association. 10+ years of real estate experience. Substantial experience in commercial real estate development, acquisition and investment projects. Development, entity structuring, and financing experience is important. Leasing expertise is a plus. Substantial experience in subdivision and multifamily projects. Must know all aspects of real estate law. Experience working with various practice and matter management databases (iManage) and timekeeping and billing systems. Must have exceptional computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Software. Must possess excellent English communication skills with the ability to speak and write clearly and informatively and able to read and interpret information. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be willing to work additional hours and weekends as required for the role. Exceptional communication, client service, organizational, time management and detail-oriented skills required for the role. Must be able to independently manage sophisticated real estate transactions without supervision. Respect cultural differences and possess ability to explain fundamental real estate law and real estate industry practices in simple English to international clients new to the US real estate market. Timeliness in responding to client needs and turning documents promptly. Consistent follow-through and ability and flexibility to multi-task and effectively balance priorities and meet tight deadlines. Ability and willingness to train younger real estate associates and paralegals. Must be highly organized and maintain electronic and hardcopy matter files per firm procedures. Exceptional client service and people skills. Superior problem solving ability.
