Client Intake Attorney Duties: Will report to Firm management, take direction from Firm Counsel and the Business Review Committee, and will work closely with the Client Intake Department and Conflicts Staff to assist in the identification and resolution of non-routine client intake issues. Develops an understanding of the Firm’s law practice and policies with respect to intake of new business. Works with the Client Intake Department to assist in the identification and resolution of non-routine client intake issues. Works with Staff to review and make recommendations with respect to Engagement Letters, Outside Counsel Policies and other terms of engagement. Assists in resolution of conflicts of interest and related matters. Checks and clears conflicts in connection with recruitment and hiring of attorneys. Develops expertise on the rules of professional conduct in the jurisdictions in which the Firm practices and assists in resolving client intake issues involving those rules. Assists in preparation and follow-up of conflict waiver letters. Organizes and tracks information regarding clients, existing matters, terms of engagement and conflicts of interest and client mandated security requirements. Participates in client intake meetings and follows up on assigned tasks. Assists in training and other communication of Firm policies and procedures related to the client intake function. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Licensed attorney with familiarity with the rules of professional conduct. 3+ years’ experience practicing in a law firm. Familiarity with law firm practices and operations. Sound judgement and absolute discretion. Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task. Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment, placing the Firm’s interest above self-interest. Ability to work or respond to occasional emergencies after normal business hours.
