Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks mid-level international trade and dispute resolution attorney with 4+ years of experience. The candidate will work under moderate supervision of partners, advise and represent Latin American governments and foreign investors in resolution of disputes arising under international trade agreements and investment treaties. Will handle ad hoc investor-state arbitration proceedings under the UNCITRAL Rules and ICSID. Supervise junior associates and review their work. Participate in marketing and client pitches. Participate in the interview process of summer and lateral associates. Experience must include advising Latin American states and foreign investors on disputes under investment treaties before UNCITRAL and ICSID. Must have experience of advising Latin American states and foreign investors on annulment proceedings before ad hoc committees and motions to vacate or set aside arbitral awards. Experience of assessing legal implications on the implementation of Bilateral Investment Treaties and Free Trade Agreements is needed. Should have experience of preparing witnesses for appearances before international tribunals. An LL.M. degree in lieu of JD will be accepted. Must be admitted to practice in District of Columbia or possess Special Legal Consultant license.
