Professional Liability Claims Specialist II Duties: Handle claims primarily on a Staffing Program that can involve Professional Liability, and/or EPLI and General Liability policies. Resolves claims of low to moderate exposure and complexity within specific authority limits, to ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. Analyze coverage, liability and damages, participation in mediations and negotiating settlements. Draft reservation of rights and coverage denial letters, underwriter notification of claim issues, and draft case summary reports in connection with significant reserve increases and trial preparation. Direct activities of defense counsel. Extensive communications with insureds, brokers, reinsurers and business unit contacts.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree and 2+ years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area within the Insurance industry OR Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area within the Insurance industry OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area within the Insurance industry AND Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s). Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment. Knowledge of claims handling or insurance legal statutes and procedures. Customer service experience. Preferred: AIC, SCLA and/or CPCU . 3+ years of claims experience in in professional liability, EPLI and/or general liability claims . Negotiation experience. Experience collaborating across work groups. Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster license. Analytical skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment. Organization and time management skills. Microsoft Office skills.
