ProfileCommercial Claims Director Duties: Utilize strong communication skills, claims expertise, and carrier relationships to deliver the best possible outcome for clients on large, complex, or contentious claims. Proactively manage a portfolio of claims, comprised mainly of large and/or complex losses to obtain the best outcome for our clients, ideally in a manner which strengthens the relationships among the client, service team, and carrier. Systematically communicate with the client, service team, and insurer throughout the claim process; instill confidence and comfort in clients so they look to the agency as a business partner whose people understand and appreciates our client’s business model. Review carrier coverage letters, including Reservation of Rights Letters and Coverage Declination letters, and explain their contents to the client and service team. Apply the facts of claims to applicable insurance policies to determine if the ROR/coverage declination letters are correct and if not, challenge and rebut the carrier’s position. Appropriately manage client, service team, and insurer expectations from initial reporting to closeout of the claim to enhance strong working relationships among the parties. Provide strategic and technical advice to clients and service teams throughout the claim process, including engaging additional resources as necessary from within agency. Develop protocols to ensure claim reviews are regularly scheduled for agency’s top tier clients (as assigned) and participate in telephonic and in person claim reviews. Commitment to the insurance claims industry; participate in associations focused on claims resolution. Develop a solid understanding of property and casualty policy terms to strategically advise on coverage. Support the development of robust relationships with insurance adjustors and client claim representatives. Work with colleagues as necessary to provide claim information for business renewals. Support client development by meeting with prospects as requested. will supervise 1-2 associates who will assist with claims, and is expected to mentor new team members and lower level positions. Inform Supervisor/Manager of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Four year degree from accredited school, law degree, and insurance experience preferred. Maintain a Colorado multiple lines license. Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Internet, Email, Database, Order Processing, Presentations and Accounting.
