ProfileAttorney II The candidate researches laws and prepares legal briefs, opinions and memoranda. Renders opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims department. Prepares and handles pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions, examinations before trial and examinations under oath based. Defends by trial, arbitration, or mediation all matters assigned, as applicable. Travels as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have license in good standing to practice law in FL. Should be a member in good standing of the FL Bar. Must have 4-7 years of experience in personal injury litigation, and demonstrated trial ability in cases of moderate severity and complexity (such as control files) or 7 years of litigation experience and demonstrated trial ability in cases of moderate complexity. Should be able to take a case from inception through trial.
