Associate Attorney The candidate will identify, research and analyze legal issues and conflicting legal opinions; review legal authority cited by litigants; and conduct self-directed independent research as needed. Will draft pleadings, correspondence, memoranda and other documents. Exhibit good judgment and organizational skills to receive, record, and disseminate information on behalf of the clients. Protect and advocate for clients' best interests. Explain litigation to those unfamiliar with the process, as well as make case to judges, arbitrators, and opposing counsel. Handle cases with an aim to move them toward cost effective, efficient, and fair resolutions. Take and defend depositions and argue motions. Handle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor; exhibit good judgment in obtaining timely assistance in managing workload. Routinely review and follow-up on client deadlines. Provide assistance to other attorneys as needed. Must be a civil litigation associate licensed to practice in Washington.
