ProfileSenior Litigation Attorney The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, Litigation Director, and program staff to advance our local to national organizational strategy. Will provide litigation and policy support for external partners, including Advancing Justice affiliate partners. Responsibilities: Help partners to develop impact litigation and policy strategies to protect and defend the rights of vulnerable immigrant communities in the Midwest and South; Collaborate with Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus program staff to lift up local strategies that could be adapted in other geographies; Develop and manage relationships with allies and co-counsel; Conduct legal research and analysis; Produce a variety of written materials including policy memos and reports; Partner with ED to support relationship-building with external stakeholders including coalition partners, funders, and the press.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should possess JD with 7 years of relevant post-graduate experience. Litigation and policy advocacy experience on civil rights issues impacting low-income API communities. Experience co-counseling in large litigation's and managing relationships with external partners. Significant experience in leading projects and strategic initiatives in a legal setting. Experience in creating written materials: policy briefs, FAQs, etc. is a plus.
