Director, Litigation Duties: Responsible for supporting other, more senior professionals, in providing legal advice and recommendations for action to executives and management. Provides leadership and legal advice to a client group (e.g. a business function like government relations) within the Company. Assists in the development and formulation of the legal strategy for the corporation regarding the assigned area. Researches legal principles and precedents, consults with outside counsel, drafts and executes legal documents, gathers relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods. Provides work guidance to paraprofessional and support staff in developing solutions to problems presented. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates a dedicated legal staff comprised of attorneys, paralegals, and administrative personnel. Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for corporation. Prepares and presents compliance and legal briefing to department and legal department management. Coordinates, manages, and directs outside counsel. Makes recommendations for policy and operational decisions. Participates in development of plans and provides assistance to internal clients in response to newly passed legislation and/or regulations. Researches and drafts administrative and legislative proposals, regulations and reports. Evaluates existing policies, procedures and applicable training for the Company. Fields and answers questions from business units concerning legal topics related to assigned area. Meets with business clients and third-parties. Negotiates and drafts business agreements. Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations and ensuring the proper business units are aware of changes and any legal compliance obligations. Performs other duties as required.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school. Admission to State Bar in which Attorney practices. 8-10 years’ experience in legal practice. 3 years’ experience in designated area of expertise. 5+ years’ management experience. Jury trial experience preferred . Ability to align people with company strategy and culture. Strong leadership ability. Ability to serve as a visionary and think strategically. Ability to foster teamwork and build a strong culture of collaboration. Strong business planning and forecasting skills. Strong analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills. Strong team and relationship building skills. Ability to effectively present information to management. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties. Strong business planning and forecasting skills. Proven leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to analyze data and develop and present data driven reports.
